December 16th – called to be Advent people

Reflection by Sister Mary Sharon Jacobucci, cssf

During this liturgical season, we are called to be Advent people whose lives reflect love and hop.  We realize our shortcomings.  But we cannot despair or give up hope.  How can e keep hope alive in such a broken world?  We rely on God to lead us.  In our desire to live the Gospel more fully, we pray our words and actions do reflect this desire of our hearts. We search for Emmanuel (God-with-us) dwelling in the human reality of persons and situations in our homes, places or work, school, outreach and the world.  Although we often feel powerless, we do our best to uplift in some way, to keep hope alive in relationships that ultimately transform us.

Something to think about this week:  How am I being called to be an Advent person of love and hope now and in the days ahead.
