Reflection by Sister Joyce Marie Van de Vyver, cssf
Sometime today, write your name on a piece of paper, tape it up on your mirror, and then take a long, honest look at yourself.
What do I see in the mirror? What do other see in me? What physical changes, what spiritual growth has happened to me over the last several years?
My NAME was written by the Lord from all eternity. My identity was defined fora purpose which only I can fulfill.
My face is a sign to the world that I am a messenger of the Word of God. I am loved by our God!
Others should see a reflection of HOPE in my eyes. They should feel the warmth of acceptance in my smile.
When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child
she gave birth to a son.
Her neighbors and relatives heard
that the Lord had shown his great mercy toward her,
and they rejoiced with her.
When they came on the eighth day to circumcise the child,
they were going to call him Zechariah after his father,
but his mother said in reply,
“No. He will be called John.”
