June 25, 2015   Genesis 16:1-12, 15-16; Matthew 7:21-29

In today’s Gospel … Jesus urges us to DO the will of the Father … it is a call to ACTION …. And it is far stronger than a suggestion. It is the basis for being judged worthy to enter the Kingdom of heaven.

Jesus spells out the essential quality of the true disciple.

The true disciple is one who is totally united to God in heart … in soul … and in mind. To be a disciple requires one to listens to and carry out the words of Jesus.

The message in the Gospel is clear … we must be about doing God’s will. We must heed our Lord’s words and put them into practice. This is the imperative to us.

May we commit to doing the will of God … to having the mind and heart of Jesus … and have the trust and faith that God’s promises will be fulfilled in our lives.
