Reflection for the Resurrection of the Lord by FAN Board Member, Sr. Maryann Mueller, CSSF

We all experience the same feelings the disciples of Jesus must have felt traveling to the tomb that first Easter morning. We all have moments when we feel that life as we know it has ended. Losing a loved one, losing the means to support ourselves and our family, ending a fractured relationship all may engender feelings of shock and despair. Whenever fear overwhelms us, as it surely will in a world replete with terrorism and violence, we may be incapable of ever again believing in God’s “abundant life.” Alternately, we know the promise of the Resurrection when we are aware of a shift within ourselves toward hope for the future. We experience “He is risen!” whenever we act on the hope that God is with us through life’s changes.
